That’s according to a survey released Friday.
Sacramento State pollster Amy Liu says 81% of the people they surveyed in the four-county region think traffic gridlock is an issue.
But only 17% ride the bus or light rail.
“And so it’s no wonder when we asked ‘would you vote yes or no to add a surcharge of 10 cents per gallon for gas?’ 51% would vote no and only 31% would vote yes.”
Liu says support for a proposed gas tax hike to pay for mass transit improvements is highest among Democrats and residents of Yolo County and lowest among Republicans and people who live in El Dorado County.
