Known in arts circles as the "turnaround king," Michael Kaiser gave advice to Sacramento area arts managers and civic leaders on how local arts organizations can weather today's challenging economy.  The May 11th event was sponsored by the Sacramento Region Community Foundation and took place before a packed audience in the Memorial Auditorium's Jean Runyan Theatre.

Afterward, Kaiser spoke with Capital Public Radio's Paul Conley about a new Kennedy Center initiative called "Arts In Crisis." It’s an outreach program which provides planning assistance and strategic consulting to arts organizations throughout the country.   The conversation began with Kaiser explaining why he decided to create the program this past February.
