Record heat is forecast again Monday statewide.
Felix Garcia is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Sacramento. He says there’s a high-pressure system over the region that’s blocking any wet weather from coming in.
“It’s also blocking the breeze from the ocean. So we’re having this warm air sitting over us. It’s going to be with us for a couple of days now.”
The Weather Service is issuing a severe heat advisory in the Bay Area Monday from noon to dusk where temperatures could nudge to around 100 degrees.
Southern California is also feeling the heat. Sunday's 94 degree high in downtown Los Angeles broke a nearly 100 year-old record.
