That’s because the federal stimulus money will pay for more road improvements…like big repaving projects on Arden Way and Truxel Road.

Andy Borovansky is a construction inspector with the city’s Transportation Department.

“You’re going to see quite a bit of construction going on – probably starting within the next two to three weeks. And when you see the cones, for heaven’s sakes just slow down.”

April is Work Zone Safety Awareness Month. Borovansky says many drivers just don’t slow down.

“It’s almost as if they see the cones and immediately a lot of people think of the best way to bypass that area rather than slow down and just work through that area.”

Five-years ago, a city road worker was hit by a pick-up truck while flagging traffic. He later died as a result of his injuries.
