Sandra Cantu has been missing since last Friday. Prior to launching the boat patrols in the Delta, police and FBI agents repeatedly searched the area in and around the mobile home park where the girl lived. Aided by bulldozers and trained dogs they’ve also been culling through mounds of trash at a local dump. Police have questioned those described as “persons of interest” but no one has been taken into custody. The Tracy police department has received hundreds of tips from the public. Sergeant Tony Sheneman says citizen volunteers are playing a key role in the search.

They get the word out. They distribute the flyers that we need people to take a look at which generates the leads that come in.
Investigators say they’re frustrated because they haven’t yet located Sandra, but they’re not giving up. Rewards offered for information leading to the whereabouts of the girl now total about 20-thousand dollars
