“There’s some cracks and disrepair that it’s time for some serious rehabilitation.”

Rochelle Jenkins is with Caltrans. The agency is kicking off a $520 million repair project later this month.

“We’re going to be doing a lot of repaving work, widening shoulders, improving drainage and taking older structures up to today’s standards.”

In all…Caltrans will be overseeing eight construction projects between Colfax and the Nevada State line. Work begins on March 31st.

Money for the construction comes from both federal and state sources…including Proposition 1B – the 2006 voter-approved transportation bond.
