A local resident brought it in to police headquarters around 10:30am Wednesday. And police spokesman Norm Leong says on the surface, it looks fine.
Leong: “The wheels are with the bike, and the frame itself in good condition. But of course these bikes are high-tech and valued at high prices, so I think they’ll have to have their mechanic probably review it and make sure it’s intact to be able to race.”
Leong won’t say how the resident found the bike, but did add he’s not a suspect. The resident also provided information that investigators are following up on.
Armstrong’s bicycle and two others were stolen after Saturday’s opening stage of the Tour of California in downtown Sacramento. The other bikes remain missing.
