Caltrans installed the camera last fall at a spot on Highway 44 near Redding. The eagles built a nest there…close to construction of the Sacramento River bridge.  

Traffic can be seen zipping by in the background as one of the eagles sits on a large nest of sticks and twigs. 

The female raptor laid eggs earlier this month. The first hatch is expected in about 30 days.
