Jason Kinney was among at least two-dozen Californians who donated the $50,000 limit imposed by the Obama campaign. Kinney is a Sacramento-based Democratic strategist. He was at Tuesday's inauguration and said his donation was well worth it.
“I just saw this as a transformational event in history and also it needed to be communicated around the world because our reputation has suffered over the last eight years. I don’t care whether you’re low income or part of the incredibly wealthy, I’m not by the way, this was a tough contribution for us to make and I was proud to be a part of it.”
All totaled…Californians contributed about $6.5 million for the event…which is estimated to have cost about $150 million.
