Environment California has sent the administration a report called “Rebuilding America through Green Infrastructure”.
Spokeswoman Gina Goodhill says one example of a local ready-to-go clean energy project would be extending Sacramento’s light rail line from the Meadowview neighborhood to Cosumnes River College.
“That project alone would employ between 7,000 to 10,000 people. And it’s a great example of how we can really expand public transportation and therefore reduce the amount of global warming pollution that we’re putting into the air.”
She says the US can reduce global warming pollution by nearly 10% a year and create more than 3 million jobs by investing in clean energy and transportation as part of the economic recovery plan.
