Drexel University will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony and student orientation for its new Center for Graduate Studies.
Drexel’s Vice President is Tobey Oxholm. He points out…this is the first them they’ve launched a satellite campus outside of Philadelphia, where the university was founded more than 100 years ago.
“We were looking at the demographics for growth and the types of education and experience that were being looked for for the future of the region and what we saw was that this region will be demanding high-tech, information resources, human relations, engineering, education, health care. And those are all of our sweet spots.”
Drexel is offering four master’s degree programs, including business administration and higher education.
The 20,000 square foot campus is at one Capitol Mall, near the Tower Bridge.
Drexel officials are tentatively planning to open a larger campus just west of Roseville.
