Some residents of northern California say they were asleep but woke-up when a moderate earthquake struck early this morning (Friday, 12.26).
The U-S Geological Survey says the magnitude 4.5 quake was centered a few miles outside of Quincy…a small, rural community located about 100 miles northeast of Sacramento.
It struck around 4:19 this morning.
That’s when Tiffany Wilson…a waitress at the Express Coffee Shop in Quincy was in bed and her dog “Bo” was acting aggravated by something…
“It was weird because he was barking every hour…hour-and-a-half before that…but there wasn’t any earthquake reported before that. But when he started barking louder…it’s kinda strange…but that’s when the earthquake hit and work me up for sure (laughs)”
Wilson says she remembers when another moderate earthquake hit Quincy back in 1992. This latest quake didn’t cause any major damage and police in Quincy say they haven’t received any reports of injuries.
