The Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency is bringing lenders from seven major banks to town for a “Foreclosure Prevention” event. Some qualified homeowners may be able to modify their loans.
Mary Lyon is the agency’s assistant director. She says they’re calling it “Keeping Families Home for the Holidays.”
“The holidays should be about enjoying family and not being stressed about ‘will I, will I not have my home.’ And the reason we planned this event as early as we have is to help as many people as we can stay home for the holidays.”
She says loss mitigation officers from Washington Mutual, Wells Fargo, Countrywide, Chase, IndyMac, Bank of America and Wachovia will be at Thursday's event.
It’s being held at the Pannell Meadowview Community Center in South Sacramento from 2 - 8 PM.
