Brice Harris is Chancellor of the Los Rios Community College District in Sacramento. He says the district would lose about $20 million in state funds.

“It’s likely to impact at least 10,000 to 12,000 students that won’t get an education in this region because we simply won’t have the courses available for them."

Last week, Los Rios got a big boost when voters approved Measure M…a $475 million bond measure to pay for more classroom construction. But Harris says that money will go into their capital expenditures…not their operating budget.

Governor Schwarzenegger is calling for Billions of dollars in cuts and tax increases to plug an $11 billion budget shortfall. Schwarzenegger says there’s no other choice...the stock market tanked and California’s budget went with it.
