Fresno community activist Robin McGehee is one of the thousands of people who have taken to the streets since Election Day, November 4th. McGehee says she’ll continue to protest.

“If it was up to me, every month on December 4th, January 4th, we would have another rally to say ‘we’re not going away.’”

She says many protestors think the No on 8 campaign should have been more aggressive.

“People feel like the campaign did not represent all of the talking points that we felt were important. And it was never near the amount of visibility that the Yes on 8 campaign had.”

But Yes on 8 campaign manager Frank Schubert says the No on 8 protests are insulting.

“It shows a complete and total lack of respect for the voters who have decided that they want traditional marriage.”

Schubert says the demonstrations won’t change anything.

“You see a small number of very vocal fanatics who are taking to the street for attention and to make a statement. The statement has been made. It was made on Tuesday, November 4th.”

Prop 8 opponents have already filed lawsuits challenging the initiative’s validity.
