Officials say a small rainstorm will not end California’s water problems…we’ll still be in a drought.
Spokesman Wendy Martin says Californians need to keep conserving water at home and work.
"While we’re thrilled that it’s raining, this winter’s rainfall season is not going to be enough to get us out of the drought. It would take a record setting wet year just to get us back to where our reservoirs normally would be in previous conditions."
The rain is expected to end by Sunday morning.
In June, Governor Schwarzenegger declared that California was in a statewide drought. State agencies took action by setting up water delivery reductions. The City of Roseville declared a State One Drought Alert back in April…asking residents and businesses to cut their water use by 10%.
