Discus thrower Stephanie Brown-Trafton will be honored by her hometown with a police escort, a plaque and a ceremony hosted by Galt city officials.
On KXJZ’s Insight Wednesday, Brown-Trafton described the medal.
"It’s the first time in history that they’ve used an actual stone in the medal. My gold medal has a white jade ring on it. So, listening to the national anthem and being on top of the medal stand was an amazing experience."
Brown-Trafton says she looks forward to getting back to her job as an I-T analyst at Sacramento-based Sycamore Environmental Consultants.
