City manager Ray Kerridge city attorney Eileen Teichert and city clerk Shirley Concolino were up for four percent pay raises at Tuesday's council meeting.

But Mayor Heather Fargo pulled the item from the agenda.  It’s now postponed indefinitely.

Fargo had argued the officials deserved the same cost-of-living increases that rank-and-file city employees got last month.

But the proposal had plenty of critics, including Fargo’s rival in the November mayoral election, Kevin Johnson.  They said with the city’s huge budget deficit and slumping economy, the time simply wasn’t right.
