Those are some of the reforms proposed in a recent report by the Governor’s Committee on Education Excellence.
On Tuesday night, the committee is hosting a town hall meeting in Sacramento to get public feedback. One of the committee members is Sacramento County’s Superintendent of Schools Dave Gordon. He says another proposed reform is providing preschool to all 3 and 4 year olds who live in poverty.
"Preschool has been a big priority here in Sacramento County and we’ve seen tangible benefits from expanding preschool particularly for our neediest children and we need to keep pushing for more preschool programs."
Tuesday night's town hall meeting is from 6 to 9 PM at the Sacramento City College Auditorium on Freeport Boulevard.
