They say people who don’t have adequate air conditioning can either go to one of the centers or other places were air conditioning is available…like a public library or shopping center.
Beth Gabor is a county spokeswoman.
"We want to encourage our residents to protect themselves and to look out for their vulnerable neighbors and people living alone and those in need of assistance. Knock on your neighbor’s door and see if they need help."
She says for the rest of the week cooling centers will be open at: the Rumsey Rancheria Fire Department, Davis Community Meals, Esparto Community Hall Boy Scout Cabin, West Sacramento Senior Center, Yolo Wayfarer Center and Zamora Town Hall.
