Three high-profile projects could receive millions of dollars and pave the way for redevelopment efforts in the Sacramento region. A state Department of Housing and Community Development committee recommended $47 million in Proposition 1C funds go to The Railyards, the Thomas Enterprises project that includes housing, stores, offices and an entertainment and cultural district in the former Union Pacific railyard, just north of downtown Sacramento. The committee also recommended $16.7 million for The Triangle, that’s a mixed-use redevelopment project in West Sacramento. And Township 9 – an ambitious redevelopment project on Richards Boulevard in Sacramento – has been recommended for $19 million, but only if state lawmakers approve a bill for additional funding that could be considered as early as Monday.
