Johnson plans to meet with city officials and travel to other cities to find new ideas and strategies for Sacramento. But speaking Friday morning, he said he won't be going to any city council meetings.
Johnson: “It’s important for the folks that are in office right now to be able to do what they need to do. In fact, it took everything in me to not go last night, Thursday, because they were having a budget hearing on public safety, which I wanted to go (to). In fact, I drove around twice, trying to go, should I go in? And I just didn’t want to create a distraction.”
Friday, Johnson picked up the endorsement of former Assembly speaker Fabian Nunez. He also announced this week that he’s stepping down as CEO of his non-profit organization, St. HOPE, to focus on his mayoral bid.
