The blazes include one in unincorporated Sacramento County, near the Jackson Highway and another just south of Oroville in Butte County.
Cal Fire spokesman Daniel Berlant says the high-risk weather conditions had the state on guard.
Berlant: “So we staffed up accordingly, making sure we had additional fire fighters on the ready. And that’s one of the big reasons we’ve been able to jump on some of these fires early on. But again, the wind is really pushing some of the other ones, making it a little bit more challenging for us.”
Berlant says the weather will stay this way through at least Thursday afternoon.
