The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors Tuesday is expected to vote on a plan to replace the Sacramento Six Drive-In on Bradshaw Road with a shopping center called The Landing.
Rob Leonard is the county’s Economic Development Director.
"This would be clearly a very big project for us at 411,000 square feet, 16 theaters and good retail. We think that it’ll help the economy, it’ll provide our residents out in that part of town a whole new location for retail and movie and food opportunities."
Leonard says The Landing is expected to create 800 jobs and generate annual sales tax revenue of $1.3 million.
If supervisors move forward with the project, construction could start later this year or early next year with an opening in 2011.
There appears to be no organized opposition against the project.
