SyWest Development has received tentative approval for a $117 million shopping center at Highway 50 and Bradshaw Road, just west of Rancho Cordova. The 38-acre property – best known for its drive-in theater – is expected to become a 440,000-square-foot center with 50 retailers and a theater complex. Anchors will include a Marshalls department store, Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond and a Michaels arts and crafts store. A Dick’s Sporting Goods store is also possible for The Landing. The center is expected to help jump-start development in the neighborhood, creating 800 jobs and generating annual sales-tax revenue of $1.3 million by 2011.
