Twenty-one Sacramento-area law enforcement agencies have joined forces the last two days for a county-wide gang sweep.

Officers have arrested 64 gang members who violated the terms of their probation or parole, after contacting more than half of the 6-hundred targets.
Sheriffs spokesman Sgt. Tim Curran says the agencies are targeting all gangs across all neighborhoods of the county.
Curran: “It’s not a matter of, we know that they have warrants, or anything like that. It’s just to let them know – let the gang members in the community know – that officers are out there on the street; they’re well-aware of what they’re doing and we’re making contact with them and we’re making sure that they’re abiding by the law.”
Curran says officers will continue to check in with the gang members well after the week’s activities are done.
It’s the third annual operation known as SNAG: Safe Neighborhoods Against Gangs. Agencies from the FBI to the Sacramento Police Department took part.
