A new employer is brewing in Lincoln. Rogers Family Co. – a coffee roaster that sells to Costco, Raley’s, Save Mart and Whole Foods – will move its corporate headquarters and operations to Lincoln. The family-owned company could have about 125 employees at the plant by 2011. Rogers Family will bring about half of the employees from its San Leandro operation, and create another 60 jobs. At full production, Rogers Family will be one of Lincoln’s five-largest manufacturers – and one of its largest employers. The company bought the 210,000-square-foot building from developer Buzz Oates and should open with 20 employees in the next three months. The company wants to move from San Leandro because of the earthquake fault, but remain close enough to the Bay Area for business.
