Airport spokeswoman Karen Doron says customers flying in or out of Sacramento on American should contact the airline with any questions.
Doron: “If you’re flying out, it’s actually best to go ahead and show up at the airport at the appropriate time and work directly with the ticket counter at the airport so they can accommodate you as best they can.”
All of American’s flights in and out of Sacramento are on MD-80 aircrafts, which hold about 140 passengers apiece. The airline is inspecting all of its MD-80’s to meet federal requirements.
American is warning customers to expect more delays Friday and Saturday. It expects to have all of its aircraft back in service by Saturday night.
