Need help finding health care?  How about getting a job, saving your home from foreclosure, or finding child care?  Nancy Findeisen with the local non-profit Community Services Planning Council says 2-1-1 is a one-stop shop.

Findeisen: “Studies have shown that people often make 8 to 10 calls until they finally find the right service.  What 2-1-1 brings is people can make one call and get directed to the right service or services to meet their particular needs.”

Similar 2-1-1 networks are available in many other cities throughout the country – including the Bay Area and Southern California.  Sacramento’s network has been approved by state regulators, and will be paid for by both public and private funds.  It’s only available right now in Sacramento County, but Findeisen hopes it’ll eventually expand to surrounding counties.
