After 38 years in the same family, the largest and oldest independent staffing firm in the region will join national staffing company Talent Tree. The CalStaff Cos. was founded in 1970 by Lee and Cecilia Landry. It has a full-time staff of 15 and between 180 and 200 temporary associates working at about 130 local companies. Last year, the company generated annual revenue of about $6.5 million. Houston-based Talent Tree bought the local company on January 1. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed, but the purchase included CalStaff’s main staffing division and five specialty divisions, which focus on the law, medical, information technology, accounting and graphic arts fields.
Talent Tree expects to close its office on University Avenue by June and move into the CalStaff headquarters on Howe Avenue.
