On Friday, the agency unveiled a new website where you can track the progress. Rochelle Jenkins with Caltrans says the site will keep motorists in the know.
"They’ll be able to obtain the latest road closure information, progress on the construction, what exactly we’re fixing and a little bit of a history on the area."
The web site is: fixi5.com
A link is in the "Related Resources" box above.
The site also includes live traffic cameras and links to ridesharing and transit information.
The $55 million renovation is expected to have the biggest impacts on traffic between May and November.
Among other things, work crews will repave the freeway, improve drainage and install monitoring equipment. Almost 200,000 vehicles a day travel that stretch of I-5.
