One of those hospitals is in South Sacramento. Senior Vice President Max Villalobos says their patients now have full access to electronic versions of their health background whether they’re in their doctor’s office or the ER.
"It really has automated everything we had previously done on paper. You had to find the record…you had to be able to share it amongst people. Now a patient’s record can be accessed by a number of individuals at the same time and from many different locations."
Nearly a third of Kaiser’s California hospitals are now equipped with the service.
Fourteen additional hospitals are slated to get the service by the end of the year…including facilities in Roseville and Sacramento.
