They were second, fourth and seventh, respectively, and Sacramento was 11th.
Dan Bloomquist is with RealtyTrac which released the numbers. He says there was actually some good news: both Sacramento and Stockton saw a monthly decline in foreclosure activity.
"They were down a little bit from December of ’07 which is a good sign but they were up still significantly from a year ago and it looks like just a one month dip and not necessarily the beginning of a trend downward at this time."
Bloomquist predicts California will keep seeing high foreclosure activity through the end of this year.
Among the 50 states, California had the second highest foreclosure rate, behind Nevada.
