Coroner Hopes Sketch Solves Case

They say traditional forensics haven’t worked because the body was too decomposed.

But Assistant Coroner Ed Smith says Police Department forensic artist Barbara Anderson was able to come up with an image. 

"With her help in generating the sketch we do have hopes now that someone will recognize this photo and say ‘I think I know this gentleman.’"

The man’s body was discovered in the summer of 1993 in a vacant field near Bannon and North B Streets in Sacramento. His estimated age at death was between 40 and 60.
