Ballot Proposition Wrap-up

Voters handily approved propositions 94-97. Those were tribal gaming agreements that will allow four casinos to add thousands of slot machines. The nail-biter of the night was the measure to change term limits. It was close for hours, but ended up being defeated. Voters also rejected proposition 92 by a healthy margin. That’s the one that supporters claimed would stabilize funding for community colleges. And Proposition 91 met the same fate. The constitutional amendment would have prevented the state from taking gas tax funds set aside for transportation – and using them for anything else. Its supporters had abandoned it – saying it was no longer needed, since voters approved the similar prop. 1A in 2006.
