The deadline for all CSU campuses was initially moved up to February 1st because of state budget cuts. But Ed Mills with Sacramento State says CSU officials have pushed back the deadline for a handful of campuses.
"There were campuses where the Chancellor’s Office would like them to grow just a little bit and we are one of those campuses and so we will have an extra month to extend the deadline to accept new freshmen for next year."
The new deadline is March 1st. That’s still five months earlier than usual. CSU officials say the Governor’s budget calls for cuts to higher education and moving the application deadline up is one way for universities to trim costs.
