The Sacramento County Animal Shelter has taken in at least 150 dogs and cats since the storm happened. Spokeswoman Celeste Ingrid says their field officers are working night and day picking up strays…mostly dogs.

"We’re definitely full. We’re at the point now where we’re really having to start to double up dogs in cages, put multiple dogs in cages and really trying to shuffle things around so that we can make room for the animals that continue to come in due to the storm."

Ingrid says it’s typical for a lot of animals to get loose after a big, windy storm. She says if you’re looking for a missing pet, be sure and check all the animal shelters in the region. You can also go to the county shelter website and check their “Lost and Found” list.
