Over the weekend, SMUD restored electricity to most of the 150,000 customers who had their power knocked off by the fierce winter storm. But 1,000 were still without power most of the day Tuesday. Paul Hahn with the county’s Municipal Services agency says they plan to meet with SMUD officials.
"We’re going to sit down and review and debrief. How do we do better or not? And again, SMUD has to deal with its communications directly with the public. But just even internally there was some issues we need to work on."
Some critics say SMUD could have done a better job telling people who did not have power when their electricity would be restored. About one-fourth of SMUD’s customers were without power at the height of the storm last Friday.
