It’s much weaker than the 80 mph winds we had during last Friday’s big storm. But forecaster Felix Garcia with the National Weather Service in Sacramento says this storm could still cause problems.

"The only concern we have is because trees and some houses have been damaged by the last storm we had last week and they might be a little weak so 40 mph winds can actually finish the damage."

Garcia says the winds are expected to die down later tonight. He predicts this latest storm will only leave half-an-inch of rain in Downtown Sacramento.

Meantime, a Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the Sierra until 10 PM with periods of snow and southerly winds to 20 mph. Up to six-inches of new snow is expected around Lake Tahoe.
