The latest branch of government to weigh in on the War in Iraq could be … Sacramento County!

Supervisor Roger Dickinson is asking his Board colleagues to vote for a resolution calling for a phased withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq.
Dickinson: “We’ve lost at least 15 members of the community in Sacramento County – soldiers who’ve died in Iraq. It has cost Sacramento County – if one breaks it down on that basis – over $500 million as we spend as a country over $10 billion a month.”
Several other local governments have already passed similar measures, including the cities of Sacramento and Davis.
But critics call these votes a waste of time – and say cities and counties have far more important things to deal with than nonbinding resolutions on foreign policy.
