They live in East Sacramento. Mike Medjed says living without electricity for three days has been tough.
"We’re just keeping bundled up and can’t wait for the power to come on. It’s really rough without the TV when you’re used to it. It’s been cold at night. We’re just hoping that we get it restored, that SMUD will get somebody out here as soon as possible."
Medjed says their electricity was knocked out after high winds blew down a large tree that fell on power lines.
Chris Capra with SMUD says they’ve resolved nearly all of the outages and crews are working around the clock to bring the rest back on line.
"The remaining customers that are out are very scattered throughout the service territory so we’re getting to them as we will."
He says at least 75 utility poles were knocked down along with extensive damage to other electrical equipment.
