Yolo County residents can drop their trees off at the county landfill in Woodland or the Esparto Convenience Center. Marissa Juhler is with Yolo County’s Waste Management Department.
"Some people look at it as their New Year’s Resolution doing their part for the environment. But instead of tossing it in the trash can it is an organic material and biodegradable so it’ll go through the green waste processing facility and be broken down and reused."
Juhler says before you bring your tree make sure you take off all the ornaments and the Christmas tree stand.
Sacramento County residents can drop their trees off for free tomorrow at the Kiefer Landfill, Elder Creek Recovery and Transfer Station and the Dan Russell Rodeo Arena.
