The City Council has agreed to spend $82,500 to finish construction which started in August. Councilman Jeff Starsky says he wants to move things along.

"I’m just getting a lot of comment from the public about the need for this and so when the public makes it a priority I’m making it a priority and so I’m getting a huge demand."

The City of Folsom has already donated nearly two acres for the park on Creekside Drive.

Volunteers have spent the last four months getting the area ready, including pouring concrete for the sidewalks. The park is expected to open in the spring.
