Broad’s Placer Ranch development could include as many as 5,000 homes, 9 million square feet of commercial, office and industrial buildings, and possibly a California State University, Sacramento, campus. Broad, the founder and former chairman of national homebuilder KB Home, has been in talks for years with the county about the cost for providing services to the property. Now, Broad wants the land to become part of Roseville in hopes of a cheaper and quicker project. The city of Roseville and the county Local Agency Formation Commission must approve the application.
