It was closed two months ago so that work crews could widen the sidewalks on the lift span portion of the bridge.
Linda Tucker is with the city’s Transportation Department. She says a lot of people have been inconvenienced by the closure.
"They’ve had to use the I Street Bridge and the Pioneer Bridge and those routes have backed up during this two month closure and so motorists as well as pedestrians and bicyclists will really enjoy having that reopen."
The sidewalks were widened from three feet to nearly 10 feet to allow room for both pedestrians and bicyclists. The re-opening is set for 3:30 Tuesday afternoon. But finishing touches on the $12 million project will continue over the next few weeks.
