Hawaiian Airlines has offered a direct daily flights between Sacramento and Honolulu since 2002. That’s continuing. But the airline has discontinued a second flight on the same route. That expansion began a year ago. While Hawaiian cut back, Aloha Airlines is expanding their daily, direct service between Sacramento and Maui. On November 15, Aloha will begin using a larger plane, a 737-800, on that route, which can carry 39 additional passengers. Overall, the total available seats for direct air travel each month between Sacramento and the islands will drop slightly.
