The wealthy Tsakopoulos family, known for land development in the region, has unveiled plans for a 12-story building at K and 15th Streets. The Meridian II office tower will feature a curved glass façade, but also a wall of plants seven stories high. Designed by local architectural firm Lionakis Beaumont, the owners say it will be the first “green” office building in the city proper that isn’t a government structure. The family says no tenants have firmly committed as yet. The family’s company, AKT, already owns Meridian Plaza a block away, which is fully leased. AKT says the application for the building will go to city officials in a matter of days.
