Marysville, Yuba City Nurses Go on Strike
Nurses at two Sacramento-area hospitals began a 2-day strike as promised this morning -- their second strike in the last two months.

The R-Ns work for the Fremont-Rideout Health Group – whose hospitals in Marysville and Yuba City combine to serve about 2-hundred patients at a time.
Shannon Glen is one of the nurses on strike; she spoke with KXJZ early Wednesday afternoon.
“Right now, it’s calmed down a little bit. About noon today, we had about 200 nurses and community members out across from the hospital in the park having a rally with some inspirational speakers and just a lot of support.”
Glen could not say how many nurses walked out today; and the Fremont-Rideout official handling media inquiries did not return a phone call Wednesday.
But on Tuesday, the official said the hospitals had replacement nurses set to go – and they’re committed to take care of their patients no matter what.
