Sacramento air quality officials fined Procter and Gamble more than $103,000.
"That’s definitely the highest that we’ve had this year."
Brandon Manzano with the Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District says equipment at the plant failed three different emissions inspections over five months.
"We tested three tanks: the fire pit, the south vent and the north vent. The one that failed three different times was the north vent."
Manzano says the high levels of emissions discharged were on par with a Spare-the-Air Day. Procter and Gamble’s Sacramento facility makes soap and laundry detergent.
