The California Association of Physician Groups, an LA-based trade group, will launch a magazine called CAPG Health. Also debuting is the Healthcare Journal of Northern California, a tabloid-sized newspaper. Both publications promise detailed information for doctors and others about the state’s healthcare industry that mainstream media doesn’t cover. CAPG Health will target its members and about 5,000 other readers. It also offers an online version. The Healthcare Journal will be mailed to 30,000 medical professionals. Both will be free and start as quarterlies. While California’s healthcare issues are a growing concern among consumers, some question whether busy doctors will find time for the new publications.
